How do I order online?
Ordering online is easy and safe. Our website will walk you through placing an order, but here's a preview:
- Use our search bar or browse by department to find the item you want.
- Click on the item you want.
- Read the information on the product page and choose available size and customization options for that item.
- When you're done, click add to cart.
- You can adjust quantities from the shopping cart.
- Check your order carefully, then click the Checkout button.
- Enter your shipping information. Select a shipping type and click Apply to view your order total and then Continue.
- Check your order carefully, then Submit your order.
- You can print an order confirmation or wait for us to email the information.
- We will immediately send a confirmation email to let you know that we have received your order.
- We will send a shipping update by email to let you know that your order is on its way to you.

I am already a customer. What do I need to do to order online?
If this is your first time visiting our website, you will need to set up an account - just click "customer login" along the top toolbar and register with us to get started!
Can I register and order online if I don't have an account?
Yes! All products displayed on our site are available to any member of the public.
How do I apply for a trade account?
At this time, trade accounts are not available on our site - contact us to enquire about store trade accounts.
How can I take advantage of your free delivery offer?
All you have to do is place an order for the amount of £85 or above (excluding VAT and shipping of course). Our system sets the threshold at £85 ex VAT – once you break that threshold, you will automatically register for free shipping!
How long does it take for my delivery to be dispatched?
We aim to process orders made before 2pm on the same day - depending on your product, and quantity, we could ship your item on the same day as you place your order! We do not stock all items shown on our website, and although we can get all items dispatched to us quickly, it may mean that the item will take an extra few days to get to you. For our current stock information, contact us.
Do you offer Saturday delivery?
Saturday delivery is available on request. Please contact us to enquire about saturday delivery.
Registration and Login
What’s a login / username?
Your login / username is your unique ID that you use to access the site and your information - on this site, your username is the email that you registered your account with.
Why's my username / password not accepted?
Your username or password may not be valid, check the error message once you submit the details. Your email address may also already be taken - in this case just log in to your account.
If you carry on experiencing difficulties, please contact us.
I have forgotten my password - can you help?
Yes! If you forget your password - just go to the 'Customer Login' screen and choose "Forgot Password?" - you will be instructed to enter your email associated with the account, and then receive instructions via email on what to do.
How do I find products online?
To browse our store, just click through the categories on the left at the homepage. Otherwise, just click in the box where it says "Search our store..." and type in what you're after!
What can I enter in the search box?
Model numbers, product names, manufacturers... etc. Anything you like really (as long as it's relevant!)
Is there an advanced search page?
Once you search for a product using the search box, it may reveal quite a few results. If this happens, you can narrow down the results by search type, manufacturer, max price and categories. This should reduce the amount of results down enough for you to locate your product.
What if I can't find the product I'm looking for?
We currently sell over 2500 products to our customers over the counter - not all of which are currently on our website.
If there's a product you're after but just can't find - feel free to contact us.
How do I find more detailed technical information about a product?
We understand that sometimes you need a little more info on some of the products that you want to purchase - if you can’t find all of the information that you need, you can always call our expert sales team who can answer many of your questions. Alternatively - you can contact us.
Why aren't there any results for my search?
Try fewer keywords: eg. instead of "Airforce hand dryer white" try just "hand dryer". Try the product number or code if you have it, also try shorter versions of the product number or code: eg. instead of "LED200FLB" try "LED200".
How do I find a product by a particular manufacturer?
Just type the manufacturers name into the search box, all of their products will be listed.
Can I pick up my order from your store?
Yes. Most orders you place can be picked up from our store. When selecting the delivery option, choose 'collection at store'.
Once you have completed the transaction, you will receive an email confirming that we have recieved your order.
You will then recieve another email when the item is ready for collection.
How can I pay for my items?
Midshires Electrical & Lighting Ltd uses WorldPay for all online transactions - it is a fully secure payment option. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, JCB and many more!
Can I pay by cash when I collect my item?
At this time, you need to complete the transaction using worldpay before coming to collect the items purchased. If the transaction is not completed, we will not recieve the order.
How will I know that you've got my order?
Once your order has been placed, you will get an email to confirm that we have received it.
If you do not receive an email conformation within 30 minutes of placing your order, check your junk/spam folder on your email client.
If you still cannot find your order conformation, give us a ring and we'll sort it!
We will also send you another conformation once your order has been authorized, packed, and shipped!
How long will delivery take?
Although we aim to dispatch our orders as quickly as possible, we cannot control the speed of our courier service - standard delivery time is 1-2 working days from when you place your order (before 2pm).
How do I view my shopping basket?
Click "Shopping Cart". This can be located at the top toolbar.
How do I add items to my shopping basket?
Click the "Add to Cart" button located next to the product.
I need a manufacturer's spare part, but can't find it on the website?
Contact us - We'll do our best to find what you're looking for.
Do you charge for carriage / postage?
For orders under £85 excluding VAT, standard carriage is £3.50.
For orders over £85 excluding VAT - carriage is free of charge.
Some countries may not qualify for free shipping, but this will be shown before you make any payments.
Why can't I ship to my address?
At present, our online store is only available to UK and some surrounding customers.
We do however make exceptions, so contact us and we'll probably be able to get it to you!
Which credit cards do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Maestro & JCB!
I have no credit card; can I still buy from you?
You can also use a bank debit card to pay for your items.
For same day dispatch, what is the latest I can place my order?
We cannot guarantee same day dispatch.
We do try though - place your order before 2pm and we'll do our best to dispatch it the same day.
How do I print a copy of my order?
Once you have received an email advising you that we have received your order, you can print that email off using the 'Ctrl+P' shortcut or File-Print option.
Can I save my shopping basket and complete my order later?
Your shopping basket will automatically save for a period of 2 weeks - so you have plenty of time to order without losing what's in your basket.. Just make sure you don't clear your browsers cookies!
Logged in customers have the advantage of never loosing what's in their shopping basket. (Cookie rule still applies!)
What type of order confirmation will I receive?
Your order conformation will be an email letting you know all of the items you have bought, along with the amount you have paid.
I submitted an order with an error, how do I amend it?
Contact us as soon as you notice the mistake - we'll try to amend your order.
How do I apply a discount to my order?
Upon entering the 'Checkout' screen, you will see a box with the description "Coupon or Discount Number:" - enter in your number there. Our system should update your price.
Why doesn’t my discount code work?
Check that you're correctly entering in the code, it may be case sensitive.
If you still have problems, contact us and we'll address the issue.
NOTE: You will need proof of receiving a discount code.
Managing my Account
Where's my order / do you offer order tracking?
If you click "Track My Order" along the top toolbar you will be taken to a page asking for your tracking number - once you enter it in you will be able to see the location of your order.
Your Tracking number will be given to you once we send you conformation that your item has been shipped. It usually looks something like this - "MIDS123"
How do I delete a saved basket?
To delete what's in your basket, just go to the 'Shopping Cart' page and select the items you want to delete.. Then, press "Delete"!
I don't see orders I placed by telephone.
Your account and online account are not linked, although you may have the same terms.
Orders made over the telephone are still dealt with by our sales and stores team manually.
How can I change my address details online?
To change your address, go to the "Customer Login" page and log in to your account.
There you can either add a new address or edit one of your previously used ones.
My item arrived broken, what should I do?
Please refer to our Returns Page for any queries on broken, faulty or unwanted items.
